ACTIVATED ALUMINA BALLS?? WHAT IS IT??

Activated Alumina Balls is basically made up of Aluminium Hydroxide by dehydroxylating it which produces highly porous material. This will have high surface area around 345-415 m²/gm.

Activated Alumina Balls is widely preferred due to its varied application and its high adsorption capacity. Activated Alumina Balls is used for a wide range of Adsorbent and Catalyst application such as adsorption of polyethylene production, in hydrogen peroxide productions and also for removing access amount of Fluoride and Arsenic contents from water.

Activated Alumina when used as desiccant, the process is called Adsorption. The air passes through alumina balls where the water that is present in the air gets sticked in alumina through the tiny passages through them, thus water molecules get trapped & thereby the air is dried out and passes through the filter. On regeneration desiccant i.e. by heating to -200°c it would release trapped water.

Mostly Activated Alumina Balls is being used in Air Dryer/Desiccant Dryers namely Heatless Air Dryer, Heat of Compression Air Dryer and Heat Re-activated Air Dryer. Activated Alumina Balls would absorb moisture present in the Air and thereby would give dry air and is suitable of acquiring Dew Point of -40°c. It would be advisable that the bed should be compactly filled so to avoid air passing without being in touch with Alumina Balls.

Activated Alumina Balls is also used for reducing access amount of Fluoride and Arsenic contents from water. Activated Alumina Balls has capacity of reducing fluoride contents up to 0.1 ppm.

Activated Alumina is an aluminium oxide which is highly porous and thereby has huge surface area. Being resistant to thermal shock and abrasion it will not Shrink, Swell, Soften neither they disintegrate when immersed in water.

Activated Alumina Balls having Surface Area in the range 345-415 m2/g is mainly used as a Adsorbent for warm gases including air. Primarily it is used for Air Drying & low temperature applications for getting better dew points. Activated Alumina Balls is mainly used in Heatless Air Dryer for adsorbing moisture from Air.

Heatless Air Dryer is the simplest form of Gas or Air Dryer. It can achieve a dew point of -40°c for the compressed air systems as well as the other application of gas and Air dryers. Once it is passed through Pre-Filter, the wet incoming compressed air passes through the assembly of Slide piston. Next this air is directed towards the first chamber where it travels through the desiccant bed which contains Activated Alumina Balls. Our Activated Alumina Balls having High Adsorption Capacity would easily absorb moisture that is present in Air. Now this Air is passed through some check valves and then to after-filter and directly provided for end use. Now Activated Alumina Balls used a desiccant present in the Second Chamber that had been wetted in the previous cycle regenerates at the simultaneously as the compressed air dries in first chamber.

Heatless-Air-Dryers

Thus using Activated Alumina Balls in Heatless Air Dryer would give Dew Point of -40°c and would absorb moisture present in air thereby providing dry air to be used in end application.

Activated Alumina – Basically it is a porous and solid form of aluminium oxide otherwise known as Al203 or alumina. It is being well known among desiccants as all the desiccants are used for same purpose, it has varied application and due to its wide surface area, it is mostly recommended. SORBEAD INDIA’S Activated Alumina with grade AD101 are well known as the Bulk Density is low thereby it can adsorb more moisture.

Activated Alumina Balls manufactured by us comes in Spherical Shapes, having size ranging from 1-3 mm, 2-5 mm and 5-8 mm. Our Activated Alumina is widely used for Water Treatment. In many Areas there is possibility that unwanted contents get mixed with water thereby causing various disease to human beings, so to remove this unwanted chemicals like Fluoride which in access amount would be very dangerous for health Activated Alumina Balls would be used. The permissible limit of Fluoride in drinking water is 1.5 mg/L.

Activated Alumina Balls which is used in Water Treatment is USEPA approved and is the easiest method of removing Fluoride from drinking water. Activated alumina filters can easily reduce fluoride levels from .5 ppm to less than .1 ppm. The amount of fluoride leached from the water being filtered depends on how long the water is actually touching the alumina filter media. Basically, the more alumina in the filter, the less fluoride will be in the final, filtered water. Lower temperature water, and lower pH water (acidic water) are filtered more effectively too. Ideal pH for treatment is 5.5 which allows for up to a 95% removal rate.

Activated Alumina – Is highly Porous and Exhibits tremendous Surface Area. Due to its distinctive properties it is being more preferred to use in Oil Filtration Systems. It is resistant to thermal Shock and abrasion and will not shrink, swell, soften nor disintegrate when immersed in water.

The uniformity of Bead Size prevents gas flow channelling and minimizes pressure drop. In addition to this there are various Advantages of Activated Alumina Balls due to which it has become well known among various Adsorbents. It has uniform Ball Size having high Crushing Strength, High Adsorption Capacity, Low Bulk Density and Low Attrition Loss. Due to such properties, Activated Alumina Balls becomes one sided option for use in various application namely in Transformer Oil Filtration.

Transformer Oil is passed through chamber containing Activated Alumina Balls through which the oil would be purified i.e. Moisture contents would be removed and would be absorbed by our material. Activated Alumina – As Acid Reduction Material

Now Question arises can the total acid numbers be reduced in Lube-Oil? The answer to this would be definitely yes you can, Use Activated Alumina Ball. Hard Working Lube-Oils and Hydraulic Fluids Change their Characteristic with time. Acid is one by-product of aging. Acid is by-product of complex chemical reactions within the systems. Unchecked Acids feeds on itself, thereby raising Total Acid Numbers. Highly Oxidized Fluids reveal high Acid Numbers.
